The Cluster of Metal mechanical was created in 2004, drived by the government of Extremadura and a group of representative companies, in order to encourage cooperation as a strategy to increase the competitiveness and protect the interests of the sector.
Since then, working with the business community's economic development by facilitating access to business opportunities and R+D, implementing actions that contribute to improving productivity, quality and process management, also achieving national visibility and international supply of goods and services offered. This produced a Strategic Plan which was considered by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain "excellent" in 2009, which allowed him to join the Registry of Innovative Business Groups. This Plan defines Metal mechanical sector as one of the most important sectors for industrial development in the territory, in line with regional strategies, which purpose is to increase business competitiveness through qualified training, innovation and internationalization.
The activities of companies in the cluster can be divided into 10 sub-sectors such as manufacturing of agricultural machinery and tools, boiler making, metalworking, construction, metal structures, metal casting and profiles manufacturing, body working, engineering, machining, coating, steel wholesaler and industrial maintenance.
ACLUMEX aims to increase the competitiveness and proffesionalism of the metalechanic sector in order to create new business opportunities and Access to development and innovation projects, promoting the business cooperation among its member and its worldwide counterparts.
ACLUMEX aspieres to become the reference organisation within the metalmechanic sector boosting the business development through R+D+i differentation and access to market.
